April Newsletter 2025
Trusted Experience. Proven Success. Unmatched Service.
I hope all who celebrate had a blessed Easter or Passover and for those who do not, I hope the month of April brings you showers of joy. Growing up Easter was one of my favorite holidays. I would love to say it was due to the spiritual significance as the celebration of the crucifixion and resurrection of my Savior, but that would be a bold-faced lie. I loved Easter for the OUTFITS! I am certain my love affair with accessories began with the white gloves and hats (see Exhibit A below for reference . . . LOL)! My mother would meticulously gather all our outfits and spend the time pressing our hair. And THEN, the ladies of the church would “ooh and ahh’ and ask us to twirl and this brought my young fashionista heart pure JOY! I still wear something special on Easter Sunday and make a point to pull out a hat and gloves in true celebration (see Exhibit B below).
Happy Spring!

Legally Speaking...
When does Uninsured Motorist Coverage apply?
Uninsured motorist or underinsured motorist coverage (also referred to as UM coverage) is insurance that you purchase under your own policy. It applies when the party at fault either has no bodily injury coverage or has very low bodily injury coverage, and your injuries exceed their coverage.
Bodily injury coverage is the insurance that you can recover from the at-fault party for your pain and suffering, out of pocket expenses, and outstanding medical bills or wages. Bodily injury is not mandatory coverage and drivers oftentimes do not purchase it or select coverage that is very low such as a $10,000 policy. Therefore, to protect yourself, we highly recommend you purchase UM coverage.
Example 1:
The driver has no bodily injury coverage. However, you have UM coverage. Therefore, you can make a claim under your UM policy.
Example 2:
The driver has only $10,000 in Bodily Injury coverage. If your injuries and damages exceed the available bodily injury coverage, you can then make both the bodily injury policy recovery and make a claim against your UM coverage.
LED Headlights
The shift from halogen to LED headlights has led to a harsher, bluish-white light that feels brighter, even if output is not much higher. Actual brightness has increased in recent years due to safety incentives from groups like the IIHS. With no federal limits on headlight intensity or blue light emissions, glare has become a growing problem for other drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Advocates are pushing for updated regulations, better headlight aiming, and technologies like adaptive beams to reduce the risks. Until then, many continue to deal with discomfort and reduced nighttime safety.
Recent Accident?
Your insurance coverage can be affected by what you do after a motor vehicle accident.
