Happy Valentine’s Day!! FUN FACT- St. Valentine is believed to have been a priest in Rome during the reign of Emperor Claudius II around 270 AD. His life is shrouded in mystery, with various accounts suggesting he may have also been a bishop in Terni, Italy. He is most famously known for defying the emperor's orders by performing secret marriages for Christian couples, which was against the law at the time. Claudius II had banned marriages for young men, believing that single men made better soldiers. My prayer for each of you is that you can find love within YOURSELF and give yourself the same love, kindness and grace that you give to others!

Protecting You is Our Love Language
Keeping you informed is our way of showing we care because nothing says "I love you" quite like protecting your rights, your property, and your future. Whether it’s ensuring your family is safe on our local roads or safeguarding your home for the next generation, legal vigilance is its own form of our love language. From the surge of E-bikes on the Space Coast to landmark rulings on Medicaid rights and the rise of sophisticated property fraud, we are here to help you navigate the complexities of the law.
Increase of E-Bikes in Brevard:
E-bike usage is surging across the Space Coast, bringing a significant increase in severe accidents, including six fatalities in Brevard County this past year compared to just one in each of the previous two years. Local law enforcement and medical professionals at Health First are reporting a rise in traumatic brain injuries and orthopedic fractures, noting that these devices often reach motorcycle speeds while lacking equivalent braking power. In response to safety concerns and reports of reckless riding, municipalities like Cocoa Beach have already implemented speed limits and conduct ordinances, while Satellite Beach is considering new local regulations. As the legislature struggles to keep pace with this rapidly evolving technology, officials urge both motorists and riders to exercise extreme caution on increasingly congested roadways.
Federal Court Rules Florida Violated Medicaid Due Process Rights:
A federal judge has ruled that Florida’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) violated the constitutional rights of tens of thousands of residents by terminating their Medicaid coverage without adequate notice. U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard determined that the state’s termination notices were "incorrect, confusing, and misleading," effectively preventing eligible individuals from understanding or appealing the decisions. This ruling highlights a systemic failure to provide due process, potentially paving the way for the reinstatement of benefits for those who suffered irreparable harm during the post-pandemic "unwinding" process.
Deed Theft Cases Surge in Palm Beach County:
Property fraud in Palm Beach County has escalated into what officials call an epidemic, with prosecutions surging from just four cases in 2023 to 184 in 2025. Criminals are increasingly using sophisticated AI and software to target vulnerable homeowners, particularly seniors over age 65 and those with mortgage-free properties, to forge deeds and sell land without the owners' knowledge. While victims can sometimes reclaim their property through the courts, the process is often an emotional and financial burden that can result in thousands of dollars in legal fees. To combat this crisis, the Clerk of Courts has launched a free "Property Fraud Alert" service that provides immediate email notifications whenever a document is recorded in an enrollee's name, emphasizing that early detection is the most effective way to stop these thefts.

The Children’s Hunger Project
Our firm is deeply committed to serving the Brevard County community, and we recently had the rewarding opportunity to volunteer with The Children’s Hunger Project. With over 60% of local students relying on free or reduced-price meal programs, many children face a "hunger gap" over the weekends when school is out. Our team stepped in to help bridge that gap by packing 1280 weekend food packs, ensuring that local students return to the classroom on Monday nourished and ready to learn.
