March 2026 Newsletter
Trusted Experience. Proven Success. Unmatched Service.
Lots of reasons in my family to celebrate the month of March. We have the Internationally Celebrated Holiday on March 17th, aka my daddy’s birthday (or St. Patick’s day .. LOL) . We have International Women’s Day on March 8. We have the First day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20. And most importantly for me, we have my wedding anniversary. To my husband, Thomas, thank you for your love, friendship and commitment. Thank you for being my partner in life, work and play. I am grateful the good Lord picked me to be your wife. Happy Anniversary!

Justice, Empowerment and Why Luck Isn’t Enough
This month we take a sobering look at Florida’s roads, where even the luckiest driver needs the shield of Bodily Injury and Uninsured Motorist coverage to stay safe. We then shift to the courtroom, where a high-profile case involving Trader Joe’s highlights the frustrating delays families face when seeking justice for injured children. Finally, we expose the "pot of gold" illusions in retail, as a new class-action lawsuit accuses Wayfair of using deceptive "strikethrough" pricing to mislead shoppers.
Florida Motor Vehicle Accidents:
Driving in Florida requires a proactive approach to safety, as even the most diligent defensive drivers can find themselves involved in an unexpected collision. To mitigate the financial and physical risks, it is essential to carry robust insurance, specifically Bodily Injury and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage, which provide a critical safety net when other drivers are under-protected. For a comprehensive look at how these coverages function, you can refer to our January Newsletter. To better understand the unpredictability of road safety in our state, the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Crash Dashboard offers a detailed breakdown of fatalities, injuries, and crash statistics at both the state and county levels.
Trader Joe’s Alleged Delay in $650.000 Settlement:
Trader Joe’s is facing a court petition to finalize a $650,000 settlement involving a child injured by falling merchandise in 2020. Although an agreement was reached in late 2022, the plaintiff alleges that the grocer’s failure to provide necessary documentation has stalled the funding process. This ongoing delay has repeatedly voided time-sensitive rate locks for a structured annuity, potentially compromising the long-term financial value intended for the minor. Consequently, the plaintiff is asking the court to compel immediate compliance and is seeking additional awards for attorney fees and costs.
Wayfair Accused of “Strikethrough” Pricing Deception:
Wayfair LLC is facing a class action lawsuit in California federal court for allegedly using deceptive "sale" prices to defraud consumers. The complaint, Prakash v. Wayfair LLC, claims the retailer uses false strikethrough prices to create the illusion of deep discounts on items rarely sold at those higher rates. This practice purportedly violates Federal Trade Commission guidelines and California consumer protection laws, which prohibit misleading price comparisons and "phantom" markdowns. The lawsuit seeks to represent a nationwide class of buyers, requesting damages and a jury trial to address what it describes as a business model built on unfair competition.
